Michael graduated from Loma Linda University with a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 1994. His undergraduate degree is in Business/Marketing, from Walla Walla College. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Physical Therapy through the University of St. Augustine.
In 2001, Michael earned board certification as an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist from the APTA Physical Therapy Board of Specialties. He was only the fourth clinician in Idaho to earn such an honor. This certification demonstrates a strong competency in the treatment and diagnosis of orthopaedic dysfunction.
Michael's strong interest the treatment of sports and performance-related injuries stems from his having served as the physical therapist for the Idaho Women's Challenge bicycle race and from his long time involvement with Boise's dance community. In both of these roles Michael has had the opportunity to work with world-class athletes and performers in both the heat of competition and off-season training. This experience has proven invaluable in dealing with all orthopaedic conditions in athletes of all abilities.
As a clinician Michael believes in an eclectic approach to treatment, borrowing heavily from many treatment "schools" as well as osteopathic techniques. He truly believes that the best clinician is the one who can approach a problem from many different schools of thought, not be limited to one specific dogma.
In his spare time, Michael enjoys running with the Greater Boise Running Club as well as cycling, skiing, fly-fishing and golf.
He lives in Boise with his wife Angie, daughter Isabelle and son Ewan.
