history

In 1998, we opened our doors as “Michael Devitt Physical Therapy, PA.” Michael had previously been practicing at one of the oldest private practices in the Treasure Valley, but decided that it was time to move on professionally. He was fortunate enough to find the perfect location for the practice he envisioned: a small, personal, hands-on, manual therapy driven office providing the highest quality care possible, with no other agendas.

In 2000, he added another therapist to better meet the needs of those who prefer a female clinician. This allowed MDPT to expand its already growing women’s health program.

In 2002, Jody Thatcher, PT, MPT took over the women’s health role as well as further enhancing our ability to provide the best in manual orthopaedic therapy. Both Jody and Michael earned their graduate PT degrees from Loma Linda University, so their depth of skills in the orthopaedic realm is highly complimentary. It is this unity of philosophy combined with the best skill available that sets us apart.

In 2004, we changed our name to Focus Physical Therapy to better reflect the depth of our clinical offerings.
